How iOS Universal Links work

Three things iOS checks before opening your app

1

TLS Certificate

Your domain must serve HTTPS with a valid, trusted certificate. iOS rejects expired or self-signed certs.

2

AASA File Found

iOS fetches /.well-known/apple-app-site-association using Apple's bot UA. It must return HTTP 200 — no redirects.

3

App ID Match

Your app's Team ID + Bundle ID must appear in applinks.details with a matching path pattern for the URL being opened.

Why do different validators give different results?

Apple's CDN caches the AASA file for up to 24 hours. A freshly updated file may not be picked up immediately. This tool checks both your live server and Apple's cached copy so you can see both.
